This apartment is ideal for a family or friends who want to be near the centre of village life. It forms the ground floor of an imposing chalet around 400 metres from the village square and tourist office. It is a short walk to the shops, bars, and restaurants of Chatel and there is a free bus service to access Chatel’s winter and summer sports. Guests have a parking space and lockable garage which can also be used for ski or bicycle storage.
The apartment has a double bedroom and a smaller twin bedroom, so we recommend it for families. There is a double sofa-bed in the lounge too so that 6 people can be accommodated if required. The bathroom is fitted with a screened shower/bath, basin and WC, and we have added a separate WC with basin. Surprisingly the kitchen dining room is the most popular feature of Iris. It has not only a full IKEA kitchen but an 8 seater table and French windows out to a 50 square metre private terrace. There you can have a barbecue, eat outdoors, or simply lounge in the sun and enjoy the views of the Chatel slopes and the Abondance valley.
Should the weather be unattractive we have installed a DVD player and 40″ smart TV,which has French, Swiss and UK digital channels available. There is also a fast Internet and Wifi service and a Bluetooth loudspeaker. The kitchen is equipped with induction hob, oven, fridge, micro-wave, expresso maker, dishwasher and washing machine. Underfloor heating ensures a warm welcome in the winter while the 300 litre hot water tank can deal with most hot water demands.
Chatel is at the heart of the Portes du Soleil region, renowned for its skiing but now with world class mountain biking too. Linked routes traverse the France Switzerland frontier and the skilifts mean that riding up is no problem in the summer with a multi resort bike pass.
We are happy to accept well behaved pets in apartment Iris and have previously accommodated dogs, rabbits on the terrace, and tortoises. We do not allow smoking in the apartment. Contact us by e mail or by phone to get more information.
