Chalet Arthur, Chatel, France

Our own holiday home for many years Chalet Arthur is a popular property with many guests returning year after year. It is equipped for only 8 people to ensure guests’ comfort and is maintained to a high standard, achieving France’s new 3 star tourist award in 2012, renewed in 2017. The Hameaux du Saix is a small group of first and second home chalets, in the countryside between La Chapelle d’Abondance and Chatel . Chalet Arthur has a patio, garden and garage and clear views of the Mont de Grange nature reserve.

Its living and dining area is comfortably furnished with two large sofas and features a log fire and two sets of patio doors leading to the garden. The dining table will seat 8 or can be extended for parties of up to 16 people! The patio/terrace has a table and benches for outdoor eating. and we provide a BBQ and sun-loungers. The kitchen has ample workspace and is fully fitted with a four ring induction hob, oven, microwave,dishwasher,and all the usual kitchen equipment.

There are two twin bedrooms and one double bedroom, with two more adult beds in the mezzanine lounge area. One of the twin bedrooms is on the ground floor next to a shower room with WC, basin, washing machine and clothes drying cupboard. On the first floor there is the second twin bedroom and a double bedroom, both with large wardrobes. The main bathroom has a large bath/shower, WC and basin.

There is a second lounge area on the first floor where we have placed the TV (40″ smart TV – UK and French channels), DVD player and a selection of board games. There is free wireless internet access and a bluetooth speaker system for guests’ music.

We are happy to accept well behaved pets in Chalet Arthur, and can provide a cot and high chair if requested for smaller children. Chalet Arthur has level access from the outside, so with a ground floor bedroom and shower may be suitable for people with reduced mobility, but please ask for advice when booking.
