Beaver Creek, USA

Beaver Creek is one of the most opulent resorts in the world, catering for the exclusive luxury ski market. The resort combines an intimate village feel with sumptuous comfort. Its heated walkways and escalators appeal to those who love the ultimate pampered ski experience. The town itself has a good selection of designer boutiques, smart shops, galleries, bars and restaurants. The accommodation is of the highest standard, and the exclusive nature of the resort, coupled with the level of service, truly helps elevate Beaver Creek above its more famous Colorado neighbours in terms of sophistication.

The ski experience lives up to what you would expect from a world class venue with an excellent snow record that allows for a long ski season with good powder snow. Beaver Creek is an ideal resort for every standard of skier. The ski area is split over the three villages of Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead with fast, modern chairlifts that provide excellent connections. The resort hosts the Alpine Skiing World Championships and the Mens World Cup Downhill. It has challenging runs and wide open pistes, with sidelined tree pockets that are rarely ventured into, even on a powder day. For the intermediate skier there are some long, uncrowded runs.

Beginners will enjoy the selection of easy green trails that run from the top of the mountain off the Cinch Express Lift. Flattering and confidence building, these runs will have new skiers and boarders keen to try out their skills on the immaculately groomed intermediate blue runs that are to be found throughout the resort. The Children’s Ski School has its own gondola – the Buckaroo Express – that provides access to the Ranch learning area. Parents can watch their children making their first turns from the observation area.

The resorts of Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead are connected to Beaver Creek by a shuttle service and the Colorado lift ticket will allow you to ski Vail, Keystone, Breckenridge as well as Beaver Creek providing the ultimate ski experience.

Off-mountain activities include an ice rink, dog sledding, snowshoeing and hot-air balloon rides. Cross-country enthusiasts are well looked after with over 32 km of mountain top tracks at McCoy Park, accessible via the Strawberry Park lift.
